Syndicate Assembly Room 10
On Monday at syndicate assembly Room 10 presented their work. Afterwards we all sang a song called 'We are the Champions'. Mrs Buchanan told the students that we had to sing this song because New Zealand won the Rugby World Cup 2015 again. Lastly some teachers had notices for the students.
Walking Up Mount Wellington
Walking up Mount Wellington
The sun was setting, the breeze was flowing, it was a good day to stroll up a mountain but it felt like Mount Everest.
On a wonderful holiday morning I was woken up by a rusty old rubbish truck that sounded like it was going to break into pieces. My church had an activity going on so me and my brothers wanted to go, it was held in Panmure. The activity was to walk up Mount Wellington with a 10kg bag. As we went up the mountain I cried out “I want to go home.”
One of my brothers is a few years older than me, and looks kind of like a troll. He is a tall slender man, he is 15 years old and goes to tamaki college. He plays games when he has spare time as a habit.
With sore ankles and exhausted legs, through wind and hot flaming sun we reached the top in no time. As we reached near the top we could hear wind swishing through the tall grass. Our bishop and his two counselors had cars to drop us off home from the top of Mount Wellington.
When I got home my legs were so sore I couldn’t feel my hands because the temperature on top of the mountain was so cold, it is an astonishing place to watch the sun set.

Senior Cross Country
Start stretching for the long run.
The bell rang, the seniors started to line up for the cross country practice. Some students started to stretch. Teachers had to find their assigned corner to stand. The teachers announced to the Year Four Junior Syndicates, “If you're a good runner then you can do three laps with the seniors.”
We headed for Mrs Golder, down to Mr Reid then to Mrs Buchanan and lastly to Miss Ginders. We ran down Tripoli Road, across to Hinaki Street and up Torino Street. Most of the seniors started to walk and kept on walking and for their consequence they had to run after lunch. By the time the students completed three laps they were dawdling towards the end. The seniors ran their hardest all the way to the finish line.
Mika, Don, Simon, and I tried to keep running non-stop, but it wasn't that easy. All the teachers started to shout at the students to keep on running, but as usual they didn’t listen. “It was hard work,” I moaned.

Origami
I'm colorful and fast, I can fly and live mostly anywhere. Yes you're right, I'm a bird.
In Room 12 we all made an animal or creature that lives in the forest, students made flowers, wild cats, even dinosaurs. The one I made was an ordinary origami bird. Most students invented their own creation of a creature that lives in the forest.

My Daffodil
My Daffodil is an outstanding piece of art. It looks hard to make but it seems pretty easy when you get to make one: 20 to 30 minutes. I took 20 minutes just to make one. When Mika presented to the class his daffodil it inspired me to make one on my own. But I noticed that my daffodil needed a stalk so I made one.
Mrs Golder did not want to buy a vase so Sini had to make one for all of us.

Spreading Germs
Germs can spread by shaking hands, not washing your hands and touching
unclean equipment.
When the germs come in contact with you they can lead you to sneezing and coughing several times. It can also weaken your body from your head to your toes.
You can spread germs by shaking hands, coughing without covering your mouth and not washing your hands often. Make sure you always cover your mouth and nose with a tissue when coughing or sneezing.
You can prevent spreading germs by washing your hands after sneezing, blowing your nose, or coughing, or after touching used tissues or handkerchiefs. Don’t share things like towels, lipstick, toys, or anything else that might contain germs on it. Covering your mouth and nose when you sneeze or cough. Sneeze or cough into your elbow, not your hands.
How Embarrassing
Have you ever been so embarrassed that you wished that the world ended.?
At Kids Fun day in 2010. It was a day when a lot of people came to watch, play and eat, and also gave out bikes to ride just for a while. I went straight for the bikes. To get a bike you had to say
“May I ride on a bike please?” Well I was having fun riding on a bike.
There was a steep hill
which you had to ride down. I was so fast that I felt like I was flying off the bike. It was probably why I went too fast and pulled on my brakes too early and fell off the bike. It felt astonishing. Then I looked at my elbow and it was suddenly bleeding!.
When I got up every single person was giving me eye contact. As fast as a speeding bullet I was rushed to the doctors.
And now I know Kids Fun Day isn't so fun at all.

Senior Syndicate Assembly Painting Presentation
Don
For visual arts we had to observe the shape, size and proportion of our faces and torso. Firstly we had to sketch the outline of our face and to show our facial features using correct proportion.Pita
Secondly we mixed primary colours to create new colours. Next, we had to use black and white to create tones in our faces for mood.
Don
I like my painting and I think it is good because one side is the sunlight and the island, the other side is the city and the night time freeze.
Pita
My painting represents nature, my body is the land, my face is the blue sky, and my eyes are the clouds, the other half of my face is dark the other is light. It shows that I like the Pacific Islands and nature.

The Only One
April 27
Dear Brother Mika
First of all we met up at Auckland and there were more than 100,000 people who were going to war. We got on the ship and waved till we sailed off. I met three boys and they were Mika, Simon, and Don.
When we arrived in Australia we all had to introduce ourselves.
The Captain came out with a box of pistols, he said, “We will be practicing shooting.”
As weeks went passed we became better. We had our first battle, it was in
Gallipoli. One by one our soldeirs died but we never gave up the fight .We fought hard and harder because we didn’t want to lose the war. I think I'm THE ONLY ONE who survived.Tuesday, 24 February 2015
